Today - on the first day in Australia - I woke up after sleeping for 13 hours!!! So not jetlag today anymore, because yesterday I did not go to sleep when I felt to, got a lot of sun shine, walking out and good food - thanks to these friends who know something about jet lags.
After children went to school, we went to visit the Clealand Wildlife Park in Adelaide. There were many Australian animals there in the nice natural surroundings:
- koalas in gum trees (so cute, lazy, sleepy, sigh, lovely),
- kangaroos (very nice, they came to eat some kangaroos food when you just gave them your hand),
- potoroos (which looked like a mixture of squirrel, guinea pig and a kangaroo),
- Tasmanian devil (very rare, a bit angry-looking face, but nice, smaller that I thought),
- wombats (huge ones!, heard that they cause problems when you hit them by car , I thought they are a size of a finnish hedge-hog but at least 25 times bigger)
- emus, (not very nice ones...)
- dingoes (like yellow dogs, smaller than wolves),
- echidnas (=nokkasiili, small, funny-looking)
- and all kind of birds.
So we had a nice half-day out time with Andrea, discussing many things, looking at the animals and wandering around the gum tree forests and having nice snack in the afternoon: wedgies (=potatos with sour cream, delicious! Anni: say greetings to Yu Yuin, wedgies were wotrh tasting!)).
The weather here is very nice, mild, +25 degrees, not too hot sunshine, but nice warm, and it amazes me after soooo long winter that I just put on t-shirt, crocs and shorts - and there you go! Tomorrow it will be +33....
And we came back home when the children came home from the schools and the rest of the day lived an normal (I suppose) Australian family life the evening ie.
- the children going to their hobbies, swimming school at a pool
- the mam cooking dinner of chicken in the evening
- the mam fixing the lunch boxes for children to school for next day (a lot of work to do when you have three children who are going to school let' s say for 11-12 years and having their lunch boxes - I really appreciate all the mams of the world who are doing that every evening, and all the fathers who are workin hard for their families!)
- playing games with children, today was time of dice game Yazee (I understood although had never played it in English)
- and having a nice, quiet (=children went to bed at 8 pm) dinner with glass of wine with these lovely Australian friends of mine : )
This is great : )

You need to have sharp claws so that you can hold yourself in a tree
for 20 hours /day, while you are asleep. |
 |
| Patting for koala was free. He was very soft. |
 |
| The black swan, seen only once before in Germany. |
 |
| Close look to a kangaroo who was too lazy to eat. |
 |
| Echidnas, small and quiet animal. |
 |
| This is a some type of frog, this is especially to Anna-Helena. |
